A Haunted House Reading and an Unexpected Surprise
Paranormal Activity Caught on Camera
Just to recap Em and I traveled to our friend Janelle’s house so I could listen to what her adorable dog River had to say about her life but that wasn’t all. Janelle and her roommate had been experiencing a lot of paranormal activity.
They expressed their fear of hearing footsteps in the attic, items moving by themselves, and the lights flickering in their home! Janelle even shares a story of her lazy boy chair rocking by itself after walking into the room! But the scariest of all is her roommate’s closet door opening by itself.
They soon become concerned by all of the unexplained activity. So they decide to put up cameras in different locations of their house, and you won’t believe what they catch on camera! They have clips of a water bowl moving by itself in River’s crate as she sleeps, a package being pulled off a shelf by an unexplained force, and even a partial apparition of a pair of legs walking to the front door!
After discovering these very odd clips, they decide to get a spirit box app to communicate with the spirits in their house, and…. THEY ACTUALLY GET RESPONSES! They tell us about the time where they found that their bathroom mat mysterious was moved to the hallway. They ask the box if they had anything to do with it to hear a very chilling response of “I did!”
Just Popping In
Janelle is my friend by association. Em and Janelle were roommates in college so they are the true besties here. Anyways, a few months prior to traveling to Janelle’s home, Em and I were hanging out putting together a chinchilla cage when Em mentioned that Janelle had gotten a new home that may be haunted! Janelle was thinking about burning sage (aka smudging) in her home to “cleanse the house’s energy”.
BOOM just like that a man pooped in (meaning his spirit was sharing information with me).
Smelly Smelly Sage
He told me that he didn’t want Janelle to burn sage in his house. It smells bad and is a dumb thing to do. He began showing me how he smokes with Janelle on her back porch, as he was a smoker while alive, and how when she misplaces her keys, he replaces them on her dining room table. So she isn’t late to work. He then proceeded to tell me about the dark entity that exists within her roommate’s closet….
Once I mentioned the closet, her roommate expressed that she has had problems with her closet door even since before moving into Janelle’s house. It has been happening a long time! Her closet door consistently swings open in the middle of the night and gives off a very ominous feeling!
“She always feels like she is being watched from the closet!”
Instead of smudging their house, I told Emily to instruct Janelle and her roommate to instead ignore the dark entity to the best of their ability and know that the man there meant them no harm. He just used to live there and still does in spirit.
Trepidatious Travels
In all honesty, I was afraid to travel to Janelle’s home a few months after speaking to the man and having him tell me there was a dark entity within the home. I was hoping that it would be less powerful after months of hopefully being ignored and thus, drained of energy.
As Em and I walked through Janelle’s front door, I steeled myself for possible negative, spooky energy. But all felt well. I was surprised the home felt so calm. After listening to River for a few minutes, I walked through the kitchen to admire a large tree in the backyard. My gaze was drawn to the deck. I felt a quiet nagging within my mind, and I saw a sort of fuzzy creature under Janelle’s deck in my mind’s eye. It was as if a hazy barrier had been put up between it and my metaphysical gaze. I didn’t believe what I was seeing and my perception of it was fuzzy. So I ignored it.
An Inter-Dimensional Fuzzball
I had spoken to the man who haunts Janelle’s home and shared the possible home improvement tips he had to share with her and other bonding odds and ends in addition to confirming that the dark entity living in a closet in the home was connected to Janelle’s roommate and not her and was subdued, but then Em and Janelle both brought up the thing under the deck….
As I mentioned before, Em and Janelle are best friends and speak often. I know Janelle, but I am not very ‘in the loop’ on the paranormal happenings of her home. Just as I think our video filming is wrapping up, Em brings up a very frightening story. She goes on to explain the night where Janelle’s roommate brings the dogs outside. She walks down the deck stairs and waits for the dogs to finish doing their business until she meets the gaze of something terrifying.
“She peers under the deck to see what seems like a fluffy creature who had red glowing eyes! “
At first, she thought that this just might be a dog. So she looks out into the backyard and sees the 3 dogs very clearly nowhere near the deck! She began to freak out and got Janelle. They tried for hours to recreate the red eyes but NEVER COULD!
I didn’t want to believe it, but when Em and Janelle both mentioned the furry little being under the deck that had scared Janelle’s roommate, I was suddenly brought back to focusing my attention on it. Begrudgingly, it lowered the illusion around it and stomped into the living room where we were sitting. It told me that it was not a spirit and alluded to the idea that it guards a sort of portal located beneath Janelle’s home. Saying that it’s “Something a human wouldn’t understand.”
This creature stands about a foot tall, is covered in brown fur, walks on two legs, has large ears and eyes, and bushy eyebrows. Try picturing the Lorax mixed with the fuzzy and not so fuzzy versions of the original Gremlins. I still kind of don’t believe what I saw. But as I watched our YouTube video where I channeling this being you can see the perplexed look cross my face and watch as I see the creature stomp into the space we were sitting in.

Situation Spooky Handled
All in all, I dubbed it a pretty good experience. Em and I got to travel to a relatively safe real-life haunted house, and possibly see an inter-dimensional fury being. If you want to learn more, tune into our Podcast episode for bonus chitchat where I channel Jenelle’s grandfather.
