Sun Sign: Your Inner Adult

An individual’s Sun Sign represents their outer personality and traits creating their overall Ego and ‘Inner Adult’ that keeps the characteristics of their ‘Inner Child’ in line. The Sun Sign drives our reasoning the shapes a person’s decisions. Representing an individual’s reasoning as opposed to their instincts, the Sun Sign shows what a person is striving to be shaping their actions and life’s purpose as well as the style in which they make their impressions.

Rising Sign (Ascendant): The Mask You Wear

An individual’s Rising Sign characteristics create the ways in which they instinctually present themselves to others. Often formed from their childhood and/or traumatic experiences, a person’s Rising Sign contains the instinctual reactions and defenses a person reverts to cope with day-to-day trials and tribulations. Because Rising Sign traits are most notably an individual’s first reaction to new people or situations, this sign is referred to a someone’s ‘Mask”.

Moon Sign: Your Inner Child

Moon represents your inner self. An individual’s Moon Sign signifies their most basic unconscious needs, habits, and reactions. As the moon is the opposite of the sun and each play off one another’s movements, it is recognized that a person’s Moon Sign characteristics are trying to outshine or be expressed over a person’s Sun Sign traits. Because of this dynamic, a person Moon Sign is often referred to as one’s ‘Inner Child’. Encompassing spontaneous and instinctual reactions that seem to fulfill an individual’s present moment needs such as feeling secure, comfortable, safe, or happy. Moon Sign traits are the knee jerk reactions to a person’s life that are constantly trying to be kept in line with a person’s Sun Sign.

Aries: Em’s Sun Sign

I don't think about doing things before I do them. I just start something and figure it out as a go. When something breaks, I usually have a million and one ideas on how to fix it, but the second I run out of ideas, I fail.

I like being first. First in line, first into a building, first to volunteer. So badly that I hate being behind people while walking. Whether they are walking slowly or not, I need to be in the front. Oh, and what goes along with this is I want everything done as fast as possible or I lose interest. For example, if someone is talking too slowly for me, I will interrupt to try and finish their sentence faster. I want them to get straight to the point.

Aries are independent. I have a hard time getting along with people who like a social structure because I will not follow someone else nor do I want to lead. Aries are typically viewed as “leaders” due to their actions, but really it’s not that we’re leading, it’s just that we’re most comfortable doing our own things while others in the group just follow. People get disappointed when I tell them I’m not the leader, I am just doing my own thing. Comfortably.

Aries are childish - especially in their relationships. I really don't know how to explain this one but that is me and Jared (aka boyfriend). Our relationship is a very fun, playful game most of the time. Everything is a tease or a cute joke.

I get bored with things I don't find actively challenging or that use my specific skills or talents.

I hate routine. I hate it so much that even driving to work every day bothers me. I tend to find multiple ways to get to work just to change it up and keep it interesting.

Aries like to constantly be working on something and drop things they don't like and fast. I changed my major twice in college and after college, I went back to learn a different major. Now working towards something kind of related but also completely different.

Virgo: Em’s Moon Sign

Virgos are know-it-alls. I will not accept information from people who have not proven to me they’ve researched something extensively. I always have an answer as to why you are wrong in every situation, especially in any argument.

Virgos are overachievers who genuinely believe they could have done better. If you know anything about me... I am incapable of doing anything half-assed but can also tell you every flaw of my work.

Virgos are workaholics. My senior year of college year looked like this: 18- 22 credit hours per semester (F.Y.I 18 hours is the max). Many of my classes were not required as well. I had 3 jobs, was working 30 hours a week on my Senior BFA Project, and was on a competitive horseback riding team all while riding at least 3 times a week and participating in riding competitions on various weekends.

Virgos analyze everything which makes them prime bait for people to tell them their deep dark secrets. I’ve been told by others that they like to talk to me because I can empathize with them while analyzing their emotions and give them constructive feedback on what they could do.

Yeah also, how I’ve written all of this so far as a huge list <<<<< SO VIRGO!

Virgos do not like being told what to do. They often create their own businesses Like this one, that Liv and I are trying to succeed with, actually, I have two YouTube channels. Which is also SO VIRGO!

Aries vs Virgo: Inner Adult Vs. Inner Child

Aries don't plan things and are super spontaneous but Virgos plan everything and need to think things through. This is why my Virgo brain constantly creates backup plans for when my Aries side just starts things on a whim. Without my lists and plans, my Virgo side would self-destruct!

It's like I have to plan for my Aries-ness to blow everything up. This can be shown in our business too. My Aries-ness wants to do everything at once, but my Virgo-ness is trying to plan when each thing will need to be completed. This is why it's a great pairing for starting your own business. I have the confidence to just start with my Aries whim and the organizational, knowledgeable, overachieving side of my Virgo brain as well as the fame-seeking Leo characteristics. Heck, this is an astrological cocktail made to create a professional YouTuber and podcaster if I ever saw one.

Leo: Em’s Rising Sign

Known as the ‘sign one wears as a mask’, I find this is crazy because my rising sign is where all of my Leo traits come from. My Leo traits are characteristics I typically use to protect myself or others or use to hide myself from my surrounding. I categorize my rising Leo traits as toxic coping mechanisms I’ve developed from trauma. It's interesting.

Leos are very self-aware but equally aware of how others present themselves too. I can judge a person by how they hold themselves around other people and determine their personality just by analyzing how they are standing. Meaning, I do the same thing with myself while mimicking certain behaviors back to others to try to be the person they expect me to be. I am a different character for each person I know. I go as far as to change my appearance/interests to fit whoever I am with at the moment. However, when my true identity breaks through and I break character, it confuses people.

Aries Vs. Virgo Vs. Leo: Inner Adult Vs. Inner Child Vs. Personal Mask

It’s kind of crazy looking at it like this because the meaning of each of the sun, rising, and moon fit perfectly to where I relate with each sign.

My Aries characteristics are usually found through my actions like choosing projects and changing routines.

My Virgo side is very literally how I think about things and solve my Aries problems. Everything is in an organized and purposeful way.

My Leo side is how I hide myself from the world and cope with trauma. I am an Emo girl in a preppy girl's body.

Leo: Liv’s Sun Sign

I like to think that I very much identify with my Leo Sign characteristics. I am extremely self-conscious. I am the person who worries about what they look like even if they’re talking about a late-night hike to Walmart or how they are speaking to a new group of people.

I would like to say I am courageous, and powerful, well I know I am, but usually not for myself. However, if I stumble across someone who appears to need help or is being bullied by another person, my inner lion jumps straight to pounce, roaring, and ready to fight! With that being said, I don’t have very much family, so outside of my few biological relations, my friends are my family, one might say my “pride”, to whom I’m fiercely loyal. I believe I am loyal to a fault, borderline naive honestly. My Leo sense of loyalty is usually how my heart ends up being hurt. If someone breaks my trust or hurts someone else maliciously, I really feel it.

Nothing is more important to me, personally than compassion and loyalty. As far a being affectionate goes, I don’t think my family was as outwardly affectionate as I wish they could have been, so now as an adult (maybe lol), I make a conscious effort to speak kindly to others about their strengths, beauty, and intelligence.

As far as leadership goes, I always secretly want to be the boss. But I will only step up if no one else seems courageous enough to do so, or if the person trying to be in charge is a bully. I personally take more pride in watching others grow as leaders and come to me for advice, than taking the spotlight. I more so enjoy helping others to shine, than be the center of attention or power.

Aries: Liv’s Moon Sign

I definitely identify my Aries traits as my “Inner Child”. Aires are volatile, spontaneous, headstrong, and flamboyant making for quite a fiery temperament and sometimes an unpredictable person. As I type this, my humble Leo brain has to agree that I am no exception to any of these traits. When my “inner-child” gets their way, look out!

I love adventure. This Aries characteristic just eggs on my Leo sign traits and being flamboyant or spontaneous and is usually the only way I overcome my appearance insecurities that lie with my Leo side. If you see me not wearing makeup or wearing an outfit that is a tad ‘out there’, that’s my Aries side showing through saying, “Screw it! You’re fabulous and other people’s opinions don’t matter!”

As for being someone eager to start things, but not finishing them because I get bored, this is most definitely true, but hopefully not this time…

When someone hurts my heart, it is definitely my Aries side that is quick to lash out emotionally. I would say that every time I’ve gotten into an argument with my fiancé that lasts more than a few hours, it was because I let my Aries side slip and he was presented with a complete 180-degree emotional turn, full force Aries ready to fight and holding nothing back. And if you’re unlucky enough to have my Leo brain agree with my Aries brain and you’ve hurt someone apart of my pride, now you have a fiery/angry Aries to deal with on top of a fiercely protective and roaring Leo. Good Luck…

Capricorn: Liv’s Rising Sign

The traits of a Capricorn are for sure the mask I wear when I am around new people or situations. It’s interesting because I’ve never looked into my rising sign, so I didn’t know anything about Capricorns, but as I read into the astrology of it, I can’t agree more.

I am very sensitive, and personally timid in new situations (unless my Leo side deems it unnecessary) and tend to stick to being business-like, practical, and responsible. I’ve noticed that when I am presented with a new environment, I mentally tell myself to be more reserved and take in my surroundings first before I speak. If I find that the situation needs me to be careful emotionally, I tend to stick to being analytical and helpful, but not outwardly engaging others unless necessary. I’ve never realized this before but have recently been told that I come off as rather cold and/or calculating in these scenarios.

Since our rising signs usually depict how our childhoods and/or traumas shaped us, this sign’s traits align very well with my past. I like to think I am down-to-earth because my Leo-ness drove me to help others as a child and listen to what they had to share.

I take a lot of responsibility for my jobs and my personal relationships and am always trying to outperform others’ expectations. My Leo and Aries traits for taking on positions of power are very influenced by my Capricorn sign so if I do decide to take on a leadership role my Leo and Capricorn sides have definitely converged to make that decision.
