Tarot Reader Meets Psychic Medium
Tarot Crash Course
Tarot is a set of 78 cards each with different meanings that are used to gain insight into the past, present, and/or future through imagery and symbolism shown in the cards. This is known as ‘divination’.
Depending on if each card is drawn facing the right side up or upside down impacts the meaning of each card. The cards are laid out in various ways known as “Spreads” and the number of cards pulled from the deck as a whole varies and is dictated by the person or distinct tarot spread being used.
Once all of the cards needed for the spread are drawn and laid out, a tarot reader will use the meaning of each card, and the order in which the cards are laid to relay past, present, and/or further information the cards depict.
Tarot readers will usually have their clients shuffle their tarot cards. This allows the client's energy to flow through the cards, manipulating them to come out in a certain manner to rely on a message. However, this is not always the case.
Meet Emily of Bijou Signature
Em and I met with a very talented tarot reader, Emily Garrett who is clairsentient. Clairsentience is the metaphysical ability where an individual can perceive the feelings of another person.
Emily uses this gift of clear psychic feeling to pinpoint her client's energy, not only to psychically feel their energy but also to manipulate the cards she will read for them.
Psychic Medium vs. Tarot
For centuries, divination tools such as tarot have been used to glean insight into a person’s past, present, and future. But Em and I had the marvelous idea of pitting my psychic medium abilities against the trusted practice of tarot for the ultimate divination tool showdown! (Em calls me a divination tool…)
Em and Emily (Emily Garrett) sent me out to talk to the plants on the balcony while Emily did a tarot reading on herself.
The cards from Emily’s personal reading depicted the current inner struggle she is facing with channeling her own inner strength to see the steps she needs to take to lift her budding business off the ground.
She asked her spirit guides to present themselves more to her in her daily life as well as help guide her and motivate her in the right direction with her professional tarot reading and spiritual coaching business.
When I was finally summoned back into the room it was my turn to read Emily. The goal was to see if I would be able to give her comparable information to what her tarot deck did.
So naturally, and unlike Emily’s tarot deck, I began channeling the spirits around her.
Tarot Card vs Psychic Medium Reading

Spirits Speak
The spirits who wished to speak with Emily included her grandpa who loved to bake pans of banana bread and who wanted to share his love for his granddaughter as well as his concern for the financial ambiguity that comes with starting her own business; her grandmother who is “fine” and is working on sending a tan-colored cat into Emily’s life as a much-needed companion; her great-grandpa from Germany who recognized the long line of metaphysically gifted women who run in Emily’s family (including her); and her great-great-grandmother who watches over Emily and helps to guide and tutor her and her gifts, as she too was psychically in-tuned to the energy and world around her.
However, at the mention of wanting to know what her spirit guides had to say, my mental medium door to that information was flung wide open and her spirit guides promptly took over the conversation.
Such a Spirit Guide Thing To Say
I was able to see that Emily has 3 spirit guides currently.
Her main spirit guide, the head honcho and leader of the operation is a man. He helps her with language during her readings. Guiding her to speak the right words to her clients when she does readings.
Her second guide is a woman. She assists by providing Emily with a form of synesthesia where certain emotions evoke a mental visualization of color related to her client and even certain portions of their reading.
Her last spirit guide is the one I like to call her Page. He is younger than her two previously mentioned guides and seems to be learning (spiritually and physically) with her to make her knowledge more powerful.
Unlike the spirit of Emily’s late grandfather who thinks she should maybe tread the safer route of trying to hold down a normal 9-5 corporate job while pursuing her dream of coaching people through their spiritual journey’s, her spirit guides expressed how she could go that route and get a corporate job very easily. But eventually, she will just end up quitting in the same way she quit her last job.
They suggested instead that she focus solely on her tarot business. But her guides tattled on her. Telling me that Emily is not doing everything she could be doing to grow her business. Begrudgingly she agreed but quickly asked them to help guide her and show her what she needs to be doing. And then they really gave her the best “spirit guide” answer. Sarcasm and vagueness!
This is where I began to speak exactly on what Emily’s tarot cards had portrayed. *hint* *hint* Because her spirit guides had been the ones to “draw” the tarot cards for her and now I was speaking with them. They were telling me to say the same things. Her guides expressed to me that Emily has a lack of clarity on prioritizing a few aspects related to expanding the reach of her business in the public’s eye and that this is preventing her from growing. She then asked me to clarify what they have been trying to do to guide her in the right direction.
She expressed to me that she is looking for their signs and recognizes them when she sees them but doesn’t understand what they mean. They seemed amused by her questions and told me that she was looking to interpret their signs in the same way one looks for their reading glasses when they are atop their head. *Such a spirit guide thing to say* -_-
They did however show me a better way that she may be able to get more straightforward answers from them. It was by reading. They informed me that by continuing to study and expand her understanding and knowledge of her business and practice that they would point out certain sentences and phrases that would form thoughts and ideas. Leading her mind in the right direction. So how do you think I did? Should I keep letting Em call me a real-life divination tool?
