Part 3 - Everyone Has Psychic Abilities
Introduction
Okay, so we’ve talked about how everyone has psychic abilities and we’ve learned about the specifics of clairsentience. However, if you are new here and have no clue as to what I am referring to feel free to read my two prior blog posts titled, “Everyone Has Psychic Abilities” and “Empath or Clairsentient?” That will catch you up to speed. If you do not feel so inclined as to read those posts or have already done so, we’ll just carry on.
The Word Clairvoyant Can Be Confusing
When I began my journey of exploring and understanding my mediumship I started to realize that many people within the spiritual community simply referred to themselves or certain individuals as “clairvoyants”. I figured a clairvoyant was someone who was a psychic medium. However, over the years as I’ve embarked on a professional journey with my mediumship I have learned that “a clairvoyant” can mean a lot more or a lot less depending on the context of the person you’re talking to or the conversation itself. So let’s first break down what the word “clairvoyant” means.
Spiritual Nuances of Clairvoyance
We’ll start by getting the spiritual nuances of the word out the way. The noun “clairvoyant” stems from the adjective “clairvoyance” which is used to describe the metaphysical sense of psychic seeing. There are 6 psychic senses collectively known as “The Clairs” and clairvoyance is one of them. However throughout time the word clairvoyant has been used synonymously with the definition of a psychic or medium. I have learned that this can cause confusion contextually speaking if someone is newer to spiritual vocabulary etc.. If you are ever in a conversation where someone refers to themselves or others as a “clairvoyant” don’t be shy to ask them to clarify if they mean the singular psychic sense of clairvoyance or a person who is a psychic or medium equipped with the gift of clairvoyance. Now that we have that out of the way let’s talk about psychic seeing itself.
Meta-Physically Seeing Spirits
Clairvoyance is the psychic ability of spiritual sight. That may seem pretty self explanatory right? But the ways in which popular culture and some spiritualists describe it may actually be blinding other’s to their true clairvoyant capabilities. Oftentimes when we think of seeing spirits or paranormal events it's physically with our eyes. Whether it be seeing a shadowy figure peering from around a doorway, an old-timey person appearing in the reflection of a photograph, or seeing a full body apparition of a person momentarily in front of you or moving across your peripheral vision. Those are just a few ways someone can experience a clairvoyant interaction. I like to refer to these encounters as meta-physically seeing spirits since these encounters seem tangible but in all reality are not. Let’s talk about the more non-physical way you can receive clairvoyant information. Using your mind’s eye.
Using Your Mind’s Eye
As a child I used to perceive human souls by meta-physically seeing them as people without faces standing a few feet in front of me. It terrified me. After asking Spirit and my Spirit Guides to not show me souls in that manner anymore my clairvoyant abilities shifted to allow me to perceive metaphysical energy in a new clairvoyant way. Through my mind’s eye.
Envisioning Spiritual Energy
Now reading the words, “mind’s eye '' may seem super mystical and cool but it’s just a spiritual way of saying through visualization. So instead of seeing a soul standing motionlessly in front of me and without distinct facial features, Spirit allowed me to perceive them as an envisioned thought instead. Today when I receive clairvoyant information, souls will show themselves and other aspects about themselves, their lives, or the lives of others to me using my mind’s eye. These are thoughts which I understand and can differentiate as not my own.
Physical Clairvoyance
Now, we’ve covered both meta-physically seeing spirits and being able to envision or utilize your mind’s eye to envision souls but there is another way Spirit will use clairvoyance to get your attention. Have you ever seen angel numbers, repeating numbers, or repetitive objects for days, weeks, or months on end? That’s a little something I like to call physical clairvoyance.
Spiritual Attention Grabbers
If you are someone who does not believe they possess psychic abilities or Spirit understands this method may work best for you, they will use this form of clairvoyance to get your attention and relay information to you. A few examples include seeing repetitive numbers such as 333, 111, 44, 37 etc.. Seeing animals such as butterflies, foxes, owls, etc., or even normal objects such as glasses, chairs, cooking recipes etc.. Depending on the information a soul or spirit would like to convey to you they will subtly manipulate physical things within your normal environment to get your attention. Hence why I like to refer to this as “physical” clairvoyance.
Interpretations & Meanings
Looking up the meanings of each number using angel number interpretations or numerology explanations may bring you some clarity into what Spirit is trying to convey to you. At times when my Spirit Guides show me repeating numbers I will look up their Chaldean Numerology associations. Once I have read the meaning behind what they are trying to tell me I will stop seeing the numbers so frequently in my daily life. The same goes for seeing certain animals or objects.
Yes, They’re Meant for You
Oftentimes seeing animals such as butterflies or birds are not just associated with your Spirit Guides in general, but specific passed loved ones who are communicating a message for you. Sometimes these physical messages are discussed before the person passes, other times they are not. But if you feel these encounters are being sent by your passed loved ones please feel confident in your beliefs. Asking a person who presents themselves as a psychic or medium to clarify these special spiritual encounters, in my opinion, is not necessary. You have the spiritual capabilities, where-with-all, and competence to validate these encounters on your own. They are meant for you after all.
Clairvoyance: A Trigger Clair
Following the flow of clairvoyant messages sent more from passed loved ones rather than your Spirit Guides, I would like to mention that seeing certain objects can lead to more abstract meanings or messages than say animals or numbers. In instances where, for example, you keep finding the same cooking recipe from your great-aunt, this could be a physical clairvoyant encounter spurring your thoughts to then receive a less direct message entirely. Instances like this can be referred to as a trigger clair. A trigger clair simply means that one psychic ability is used to get your attention in order for other associated psychic messages to come through to you…because in case I forgot to mention, you can have psychic capabilities with more than just one ability. You don’t only use one of your 5 physical senses to interact with the physical world around you? So why would you only be adept in one psychic sense to perceive the metaphysical around you?
